4 Tips to Quickly Sell Your Home
If you’re considering selling your home in the near future you may want to consider these four tips to quickly sell.
My first recommendation is to depersonalize your home. Take down any family photos and decorations you may have. Not only is this going to help clear any clutter, but it’s also going to help buyers imagine themselves living there. It’s difficult to envision yourself in a new home when someone else’s family is looking back at you from the wall.
My second tip is price it correctly. If you price your home too high then it will sit on the market for too long and people will assume something is wrong with it. You won’t have as many buyers coming through and looking at it. Nobody wants to price their home too low, so try to list it at the correct price.
My third tip is to use a real estate agent to list your home. There is a multitude of reasons this is very beneficial (probably a whole other blog posts worth of reasons), but to name a few:
- We know the legality behind the contracts.
- We can do a comparative market analysis and price your home correctly.
- We can list it in the MLS. Many online websites pull from the MLS, so if it’s not listed there then buyers won’t even see your home is for sale.
My fourth and final tip is HAVE A PLAN. Do not just list your home on the market to see what happens. You need to know what you’re going to do when your home sells. This is a crazy market with a shortage of listed homes, so your home will likely sell very quickly. Be prepared! Do you need to rent a storage unit? Are you going to live with family or friends? Are you going to rent while you look for another home? Do you already have another home in mind? These are all questions you need to be thinking of before you try to sell your home.
Thankfully it is a seller’s market right now, but keep these four tips in mind if you are going to list your home.
