If you are a real estate investor or plan on becoming an investor, then you’ll want to understand the benefits of a tax-deferred 1031 exchange. When selling an investment property, you must pay capital gain taxes on the profit made. The term 1031 exchange refers to the Internal Revenue Code Section 1031.
