Why Hire a Buyer’s Agent?
Many people have a preconceived idea that real estate agents have an easy job. They get to go around and open doors to beautiful homes; clients buy it; and the deal is done. I’d like to blame HGTV and Bravo, but it’s mostly a lack of understanding of what a real estate agent does. I decided to finally make a list of SOME of the things we do during the home buying process (in no way could I make a list of all the very very random situations that come up in this industry):
- We have our buyer’s best interest at heart.
- We understand the market.
- We have a lot of practice negotiating on behalf of the buyer.
- We know the market values and how to compare homes.
- We have a list of people within the industry who we trust such as lenders, escrow offices/title companies, inspectors, and others.
- We understand the contracts.
- Buyer’s don’t typically pay the agent fees, the sellers do.
- We’ve seen a ton of homes and know when there are red flags.
- We coordinate the showings.
- We have access to immediately see when a home is listed in the MLS.
- We maintain communication with everyone involved throughout the entire transaction.
- We help take the stress out of the buying process and make sure it goes as smooth as possible.
